Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. In her early Broadway roles, she played in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. It will also be available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford's Broadway comeback will be in the month of March 2023, when he plays alongside Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton director Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at leading the production. Ashford's most recent part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She starred in two seasons on the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No no stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her portrayal of Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Her additional Broadway credits are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
